Hong Kong City Furniture contains multiple functional objects. Each of them belongs to a different set of formal expression or is part of the different style. While the change is obvious in the combination of the style of public furniture of Hong Kong, there is a lack of homogeneity in formal expression, which could contribute to a unique Hong Kong identity. This proposal for design by Rocker-Lange architects for a modern city bench seeks to understand the concept of street furniture as a holistic problem of design. Instead of proposing only one single static design, this scheme offers multiple variable solutions that meet certain criteria for suitability. Design “city adapter” based on a digital parametric model.
