The buildings of the cult were always especially revered. Temples, temples and other sanctuaries not only fulfilled their direct purpose, but also were a place of shelter and protection. Some peoples even had a custom forbidden to the soldiers to kill people who were hiding in sacred places, and in ancient Greek mythology one of the heroes of the Trojan War was completely cursed and brutally paid for the murder in the temple.
