The breakdown of austenite led to an increase in strength due to plastic components. The latter, as you know, have the opportunity to distinguish the occurrence of microcracks. When studying the effect of sulfidation on the contact endurance of the steel, we obtained the results showing that contact endurance largely depends on the films formed on the working surface with chemical and termic methods. In this case, a layer of sulfides, without changing the hardness of the surface, largely intensifies the processing process. As a result of this, the dangerous pressure values on micro -resistance are reduced, the hydrodynamics of the lubricant and the limit of contact endurance are improved. The firmness criterion is not always reliable in assessing contact endurance and wear resistance. The structure of the material and surface layers should also be taken into account. The structure should have the right combination of elastic and plastic components. The friction units of construction and road machines are exposed to the abrasive environment during transportation and processing of cement, concrete, gravel, gravel, sand, lime, with earthen and other works. Often, the work of such nodes proceeds when atmospheric and technological moisture falls into the friction zone, as well as with the action of alleged loads. The problem of increasing the reliability and durability of friction nodes in these conditions is of particular importance. One of the real ways to solve this problem is the use of pressed wood in the friction nodes of the crop and road machines, the dignity of which is the ability to work with a limited lubrication supply, high wear resistance in an abrasive environment, and low cost. The reliability of bearings from pressed wood depends on the choice of its brand.
